Owner Gotse van der Velde was an agricultural engineer before he discovered the hull of the Elegant. That is when this proud Frisian definitely decided to exchange his office job for a life on water. The Elegant, a Zeeland clipper that for years transported potatoes, beets and mixed cargo from Antwerp and Rotterdam, is, as a result of Gotse’s decision, and after a thorough alteration, now well-equipped for 1-day and multi-day trips from Kiel across the Baltic in the direction of Scandinavia. In spring and autumn the Elegant also sails in Dutch waters from Lemmer. The Elegant has very ample dimensions. The spacious living room, the comfortable sleeping cabins and the fully-equipped kitchen offer a deluxe accommodation to 30 guests. On day-trips the vessel can carry 40 guests.
